Nursing home abuse is more widespread than most people think. According to the Nursing Home Abuse Center, approximately 2 million elders in the U.S. aged 65 and older have suffered some form of abuse at the hands of a caregiver. The elderly deserve to be in a secure environment with concerned caregivers, but unfortunately, this isn’t the case for many seniors, as the statistics show. (more…)

The elderly are the most vulnerable part of the population to the COVID-19 pandemic. In the U.S. alone, thousands of people living in nursing homes have died from the novel coronavirus, and some approximations say a quarter of all infections in the country have some link to nursing homes — whether it’s visitors, patients or healthcare workers in these long-term care facilities.

Nursing Home Companies Indicted for Misusing Federal Money Received Hundreds of Millions of Dollars in Pandemic Relief
A considerable number of Nursing Home companies are being sued for Medicare Fraud after receiving more than $300 million in coronavirus relief payments. The accusations against the facilities include putting elderly residents into unnecessary therapy services and delaying patients’ release to obtain higher Medicare payments.
